Merzia Maskati Shewakramani

M.A., CCC-SLP, CPSP

Merzia Maskati Shewakramani founded SDLC in 2008 and leads the clinic as its Clinical Director. She also consults as a Speech Therapist at the Breach Candy Hospital Trust.

She trained at Topiwala National Medical College (Nair Hospital), completing a BScHLS and standing first across every year of her degree — earning state-wide gold medals from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. She went on to complete a Master of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Indiana University (USA) and holds a certificate in Sensory Integration from the USC Chan Division of Occupational Therapy. She is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), Speech Pathology Australia, the Rehab Council of India, and Hanen.

Before founding SDLC, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital and Easter Seals Disability Services, both in Boston. She specialises in supporting families of neurodivergent children and working with neurodivergent adults, and has trained and certified several clinical fellows.
